The Faculty of Health at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) was the setting for the live broadcast of Canal RCN’s midday news program, which visited Bucaramanga as part of its “Encontrémonos en las regiones” (Let’s meet in the regions) series. One of the main focuses of this broadcast was to take a closer look at the UIS’s expansion in terms of educational offerings, infrastructure, research, and internationalization.

“We have taken the set out of Bogotá, from the RCN Channel studios, and moved it to the regions. That is why we are here, at a university that is a benchmark for the region and the country, an institution that has grown and fulfills a social and educational role of great impact in Colombia,” said Felipe Arias Londoño, journalist and presenter of Noticias RCN.

During the broadcast, the journalists highlighted not only the beauty of the modern Scientific Complex for Health and Life Sciences Research, but also the academic and scientific work carried out there, training highly skilled human talent in various areas of health and contributing to scientific advancement in the region.

“This Health Complex is the result of the effort, work, and progress of the UIS. It is a building with state-of-the-art technology and all the necessary specifications for health training. Here we see how the University continues to take firm steps in favor of education in the country,” added Arias Londoño.

She proudly presented to the national and international audience the advances that consolidate the UIS as one of the best universities in Colombia, capable of bringing high-quality education to various regions outside Santander.

“It is very important for us that the country knows everything the University has to offer. We are a Santander institution for Colombia. We have high-quality academic offerings, with accredited and reaccredited programs, alliances with the productive sector, curricular innovation, and multiple wellness initiatives for our professors, administrators, and especially our students,” said the Vice-Chancellor.
