Professor and lawyer Carlos Alberto Villarreal Angulo, coordinator of the Technology in Judicial Management and Criminal Investigation of the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education (Ipred) of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), had an outstanding participation in the IX National Congress of Public Employment. The event, organized by the National Civil Service Commission, was held on June 19 and 20 in Bucaramanga.
Villarreal Angulo acted as moderator in the debate entitled “The vision of integrity from the academia”, a crucial space where expert panelists analyzed integrity in the public service from different perspectives. Regulatory, psychological, technical and technological aspects were addressed, considering the current challenges imposed by the digital era, selection processes, innovation in knowledge and the relevance of soft skills.

Professor Villarreal expressed his satisfaction for the invitation to such a significant congress, highlighting two fundamental points: “First, to evidence the commitment of the UIS in strengthening the culture of integrity and transparency in the public sector, which we develop with the constant training conducted on the subject and which are aimed at university officials and likewise, the policy of dignifying the public, which the Rector, Dr. Hernán Porras Díaz has advanced in recent years”.
He also highlighted the importance of what was learned: “The second has to do with the experiences and lessons learned from other public entities at the national level, which allows us to bring new ideas to project and replicate in the institution”. Professor Villarreal Angulo’s participation underlines the active role of the UIS in promoting integrity and excellence in the field of public employment in Colombia
