The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) held the closing ceremony of the Cátedra UIS, a significant event that marked the induction of new professors. This activity, organized by the Division of Human Talent Management in Bienestar Pro, stands out as a fundamental pillar for the academic growth and strengthening of the university’s educational community.
During the ceremony, various activities were presented aimed at integrating new teachers into the institutional culture and providing them with the necessary tools for their teaching performance. The UIS Chair not only seeks to foster academic excellence, but also to promote well-being and collaboration among faculty members.
For Juan Camilo Lesmes, head of the Human Talent Management Division, “the people we are commemorating today fulfill a very important cycle during their institutional induction phase, which is the training period called Cátedra UIS”. At the same time, he stressed that these new professors “will lead our students to receive more qualified, more prepared and more dignified people”.
The event was received with enthusiasm by the new professors, who expressed their commitment to the training of students and their willingness to contribute to the development of the university. UIS thus reaffirms its dedication to educational quality and the comprehensive training of its teachers, key elements for the educational mission of the institution.
“It is a quite complete and complex process, which facilitates the coupling to such a large institution, so I am grateful for being able to link me as a full professor of the UIS,” said Hans Yecid García Arenas, UIS full professor.
Professor Mónica Fajardo said that “I feel fulfilled because it was a great effort that today culminates”; likewise, she stressed that the UIS professorship is “valuable because you get to know and learn about the institutional program”.
With the closing of the UIS Chair, the university continues to advance in its purpose of offering high quality education, strengthening the synergy between human talent and academic excellence.
