The tenth edition of the UISALUD Contigo newsletter, the official publication of the Specialized Health Unit of the Industrial University of Santander, is now available. This issue highlights the main institutional achievements of 2025, including the historic expansion of infrastructure, outstanding results in quality audits, and the strengthening of biomedical innovation projects developed between academia and the health sector.
One of the most significant milestones is the official delivery of the remodeled Block A and the new Block B, which allow UISALUD to grow by 175% in physical capacity compared to 2022 and reach 3,428 m² of healthcare infrastructure. The works include new medical offices, expanded physical therapy areas, mental health offices, and cognitive and occupational rehabilitation spaces, which strengthen timely care for users and their families.
The newsletter also highlights the results of the follow-up audit conducted by Icontec, which confirmed the effectiveness of the Quality Management System under the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The auditors highlighted comprehensive care, risk management, user satisfaction, and compliance with strategic quality indicators.
In terms of innovation, the new edition features the article “Innovation that heals,” a story that highlights the collaboration between the School of Industrial Design and UISALUD in the development of biomedical devices using 3D printing. The most recent case involves a customized orthosis developed by the i+3DLAB laboratory, which optimized the recovery process for the rector of UIS. This project reflects the potential of digital manufacturing to transform clinical experiences and provide customized solutions for patients.
With this new edition, UISALUD reaffirms its commitment to transparency, quality, and the well-being of the university community, highlighting institutional efforts to offer high-standard services, modern infrastructure, and user-centered care processes.
