In the Magistral Auditorium of the Faculty of Health, the academic vice-rector, Professor Olga Mercedes Álvarez Ojeda, and the Teaching Mission team held a welcome and faculty innovation workshop.
This event, which brought together professors from across the institution, aimed to promote educational innovation through the exchange of experiences, learning new methodologies, and integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence.
More than 200 professors were invited to an academic space that addressed various topics: Teaching Mission, pedagogical model, classroom climate, academic training, relevance of training, innovative experiences, among others.
The conference provided an opportunity to delve deeper into topics of institutional interest such as comprehensive training, institutional mission, internationalization, student welfare, regional campuses, the Academic Excellence System, inclusive education policy, agreements, UIS professorships, gender policy, multilingualism, academic programs, magazines, culture, and sports, among others.
The development of socio-emotional skills, ethical values, self-regulation, and collaboration are soft skills that, according to Professor Daniel Sierra, a member of the Teaching Mission team, “foster learning by creating a relevant classroom environment.”
This space also invited each participant to take an introspective look at themselves in order to analyze the teacher’s skills in teaching, evaluating, and managing student-centered learning so that each student can reach their maximum potential.
