Alianza Universidad-Estado

On August 21, 2025, the School of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Industrial University of Santander actively participated in the first meeting of the Management Group for the Transformation of Food Systems in Santander, held at the Santander Governor’s Office and led by Claudia Martínez Zuleta, representative of the United Nations, and the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development of Santander, Wilmer Jiménez Gómez.

The event brought together universities, government entities, farmers’ unions, social organizations, and actors from the productive sector with the purpose of defining joint lines of action to strengthen agricultural systems, industry, and academia in the region, taking as a reference successful experiences already underway in other areas of the country.

The participation of the UIS School of Nutrition and Dietetics highlights the institutional commitment to building policies and strategies that promote sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems, contributing through research, professional training, and coordination with communities and strategic sectors in the territory.

This meeting marks the beginning of a collaborative work agenda that seeks to promote the transformation of food systems in Santander, with the UIS and its School of Nutrition as key players in the dialogue between academia, the productive sector, and public management.
