The Industrial University of Santander-Malaga Campus is moving forward with the development of Agricultural Sciences Week 2025, an academic space that promotes comprehensive training, innovation, and environmental commitment among future professionals.

During this second day of activities, Animal Husbandry and Forestry Engineering students shared various classroom projects focused on biotechnology, sustainability, and responsible productive development, demonstrating their talent and commitment to the progress of the region’s agricultural and environmental sector.

Among the noteworthy projects is the beekeeping venture of César Joya, a seventh-semester Animal Science student who is developing an initiative to produce honey and oak honey.

“Through these spaces, one can open up business opportunities. Beekeeping is essential for the environment,” said the student.

Germán Jaimes, also a zootechnics student, presented a model of a Boer sheep farm in the municipality of Macaravita as part of his Sheep and Goats course, while Camilo Sandoval, a first-semester forestry engineering student, presented his project on the physiological processes of bonsai growth.

Proposals related to agroecology, waste management, and sustainable production models were also exhibited, reflecting the creativity and commitment of young people to protecting the environment.

Professor Ricardo Oviedo highlighted the importance of these educational spaces.

“This week is very interesting because it brings the university closer to the community. Today, each group reflects the benefits of their profession through their exhibits,” he said.

With these activities, UIS Málaga reaffirms its purpose of training professionals capable of transforming the region through science, innovation, and sustainability.
