More than 200 students will participate in a research conference organized by REDCOLSI at the UIS

From June 9 to 12, the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) will host the 21st Departmental Meeting of Research Seedbeds, the 9th Kids Research Meeting – Young Researchers, and the 6th International Research Meeting, organized by the Santander Node of the Colombian Network of Research Seedbeds (REDCOLSI).

This important academic event will bring together students, teachers, young researchers, and knowledge managers from different municipalities in Santander and other regions of the country, establishing itself as a space for promoting educational research, exchanging experiences, and strengthening scientific culture among the younger generations.

For four days, the UIS Floridablanca campus will serve as a hub for the presentation of research projects, the exchange of academic experiences, and the collective development of initiatives aimed at providing solutions to the scientific, technological, and social challenges facing local communities.

The program includes presentations by children, young researchers, and seed scholars, as well as networking opportunities, sharing of research experiences, and activities designed to strengthen participants’ scientific skills.

Participants will also have the opportunity to attend short courses on topics such as dubbing and sound design, social research, aquatic organisms, educational robotics, urban mining, and other fields of knowledge aimed at strengthening interdisciplinary learning and the social appropriation of science.
As part of the academic program, attendees will also take part in tours of the main campus of the Industrial University of Santander and the Guatiguará Technology Park, where they will be able to get a firsthand look at the institution’s scientific and technological capabilities.

In addition, visits will be organized to the Natural History Museum, the Research Center for the Improvement of Quality of Life (CENIVAM), and the UIS Planetarium—venues designed to introduce children, young people, and teachers to science outreach experiences that spark an interest in research, science, and innovation.
