The Universidad Indsutrial de Santander (UIS) continues to position itself as one of the country’s strongest public institutions in human talent development, according to recent indicators from the international firm QS World University Rankings, which highlight its strong performance in employability and employer reputation.
According to these metrics, 73.8% of UIS graduates obtain employment within a maximum period of 15 months after graduation, meaning that nearly three out of four professionals find opportunities in the labor market within a competitive timeframe compared to the national context. This indicator reflects the relevance of academic programs and their alignment with the real needs of the productive sector.
This result is complemented by UIS’s global ranking of 721st in employer reputation — a position that, among thousands of universities evaluated, confirms that the UIS brand is recognized by companies and international recruiters for the technical, ethical, and professional quality of its graduates.
Another factor supporting the strength of these figures is the volume of data analyzed: more than 90,000 UIS graduates are part of QS’s data universe, providing strong statistical robustness to the indicators and enabling more accurate tracking of graduates’ impact across different sectors of the economy.
For David León, Coordinator of the UIS Institutional Alumni Program, these results reflect a sustained process of academic quality and comprehensive student support:
“These indicators confirm that UIS not only educates excellent professionals, but also citizens prepared to transform their environment. High employability shows that our graduates are valued for their technical rigor, adaptability, and social commitment. This is the result of a university connected to its territory, industry, and the country’s challenges,” he said.
According to recent reports, including the 2024 ranking and projections toward 2026, UIS is consistently consolidated as the third-best public university in Colombia, surpassed only in some indicators by the National University of Colombia and the University of Antioquia. Its historic strength in areas such as Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering continues to be a key driver of its positioning among national and international employers.
These results reaffirm UIS’s institutional commitment to academic excellence, social relevance, and the education of professionals who positively impact regional and national development.
