Young people from Floridablanca learn about the benefits of studying at UIS through coordination with secondary education

The Industrial University of Santander is moving forward with the promotion of this initiative to access quality public higher education, which allows 10th and 11th grade students from educational institutions in Floridablanca to enter the Creative and Cultural Business Administration program offered at the UIS campus in this municipality.

During a recent visit to the José Antonio Galán Institute, the educational community learned details about this interesting academic offering provided by the UIS for young people from Floridablanca through a joint program. This allows them to begin their university education while continuing their academic studies in secondary school.

“Students who wish to start with us can do so next year in the Professional Technical Program in Cultural and Creative Project Execution. This is the first level of this UIS academic program offered through preparatory cycles at the Floridablanca campus, which then continues with technology and ends with the professional program in Cultural and Creative Business Administration,” said Tatiana Blanco, from the UIS academic vice-rector’s office.

During this meeting, student Zulay Contreras Quintero shared her experience as a UIS student with her high school classmates and highlighted the opportunities offered by the academic program she is currently enrolled in, as well as the physical and technological infrastructure provided by the university at the Floridablanca campus.

Among the requirements that young students must meet to access this UIS program through articulation are:

-Be at least 16 years of age or older at the time of enrollment.

-Be enrolled in 10th or 11th grade at educational institutions in Floridablanca.

According to the university’s academic calendar, classes will begin in February of next year. It is important to note that for this UIS academic program, the support granted by the National Government to potential beneficiaries of the free higher education policy applies, according to the socioeconomic status of the students.
