Teachers and students of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), winners of the call AVA-TIC 2025, signed the minutes of the start before the academic vice rector, Daniel Alfonso Sierra Bueno. This initiative seeks to strengthen the design, implementation and improvement of Virtual Learning Classrooms (AVA) on the Moodle institutional platform, through the support of student assistants.
“We started projects in which professors from different schools and faculties will develop virtual classrooms through the institutional program for the use of ICT in the improvement of training processes. These classrooms are spaces within the learning platform that allow students to access activities that reinforce their knowledge in the subjects,” emphasized Vice Rector Sierra Bueno.

The beneficiaries of the call highlighted the importance of this type of opportunities to innovate in pedagogical strategies and enrich virtual learning environments.
“It is a very interesting call, because it allows us to deepen the use of virtual classrooms, create spaces in which students reinforce their knowledge, and design new strategies and methodologies for teaching,” said Mike Celis, a teacher at the School of Microbiology.
From the administration of the Moodle platform, the commitment of the academic community to the digital transformation of the educational process was also positively valued.
“It is a strength for the university to see how teachers are increasingly motivated to incorporate technologies in their teaching practice. This benefits students, who belong to generations familiar with the use of ICTs,” said Jorge Iván Torres, administrator of the institutional platform.
