The passion for sports will once again take over the university campus. The Universidad Industrial de Santander announced the 35th edition of its traditional Athletic Race, one of the most anticipated sporting events for the university community and the public, which will take place next Sunday, March 15.
The event, which combines sports, recreation, and well-being, will bring together walkers, joggers, and runners for a 4-kilometer route within the university campus. The activity will start at the Luis A. Calvo Parking Lot and finish at the March 1st Stadium, an emblematic venue for sports activities at the institution.
The day will begin early in the morning. The women’s race will start at 6:30 a.m., while the men will set off at 7:00 a.m., in a competition held in person that is expected to bring together hundreds of participants.
The race will feature multiple categories that will allow participation from different sectors of the community. These include students, employees, professors, alumni, and external participants, as well as master categories for competitors aged 50 to 59 and over 60, in both the women’s and men’s divisions.
As an incentive for the university community, registration will be free for UIS students, employees, and professors. Meanwhile, alumni and external participants will be able to register by paying the corresponding fee according to the selected participation kit.
With this 35th edition, the Athletic Race reaffirms its role as one of the most traditional sporting events at UIS, promoting physical activity, integration, and a sense of belonging among the university community and the wider public.
