The student community of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) can now participate in the faculty evaluation process for the first academic semester of 2026, an institutional strategy aimed at gathering students’ opinions on the performance of their professors and strengthening educational quality.
The evaluation process is completed by undergraduate students in on-campus, distance, and virtual programs, as well as graduate students across all university campuses, and officially began on May 25, 2026. The initiative is led by the Academic Vice Presidency as a student participation mechanism focused on the continuous improvement of teaching processes.
How to participate in the UIS faculty evaluation?
To participate, students must log into the UIS institutional portal, access the Students section, select the Student System, and then identify themselves using their student code, academic program, and password.
Once logged in, students must go to the Academic Services menu and click on the Faculty Evaluation option, where they can assess each professor’s performance using the evaluation form provided for this purpose.
How the faculty evaluation system works
The evaluation is conducted by professor and not by course, meaning that each professor must be evaluated individually using a scale from 1 to 100, where 100 represents the highest score.
Additionally, students are advised to verify that each professor’s name correctly matches the courses taken during the semester.
What to do if a professor appears or is missing from the system?
If a professor appears in the system but the student did not take classes with them, the institution indicated that students should select the option “do not evaluate this professor” and provide a justification.
Likewise, if a professor who taught during the semester is missing from the list, students are encouraged to report it promptly so the professor can be included before the survey collection process ends.
Faculty evaluation seeks to strengthen academic quality
The Academic Vice Presidency emphasizes that the faculty evaluation serves as an important participation space where students can express their views regarding their professors’ academic performance and contribute to institutional strengthening.
This process seeks to promote higher academic quality across university programs and consolidate educational excellence through active, objective, and responsible student participation.
UIS encourages students to complete the process within the established timeline
UIS also reminds students that participating in this process not only contributes to improving teaching quality but also helps streamline academic procedures related to enrollment for the following semester. For this reason, the university invited the entire student community to complete the evaluation process within the established deadlines.
