The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) paid a well-deserved tribute to its professors with a day full of recreational, recreational, sports, artistic and wellness activities.

“It is the professor, together with the student, who builds the university, who builds institutions. It is a space beyond recognition, of relaxation, sharing, integration, physical well-being, mental health; that is why in the facilities of the Catay recreational headquarters a special day was designed under the direction of the rector Hernán Porras Díaz, as has been customary in his years of administration”, says Juan Camilo Lesmes, head of the Human Talent Management Division.

During this day, UIS professors enjoy sports and recreational activities, dance therapy, yoga, swimming, soccer, and basketball.

The professors were grateful for the University’s gesture and highlighted the value of having a space to get out of the routine, rest and share in an atmosphere of integration and fellowship.

“I think it is excellent that the university provides these spaces for the professors so that we can relax and enjoy sports. Right now there are volleyball events. Thank you very much to the university for providing us with these beautiful spaces that are necessary for us,” said Juan Sebastián del Villar Nieto, professor of the Physical Education and Sports Department.

Relaxation sessions in the water and yoga practices became the center of attention for those seeking moments of tranquility and relaxation.

Judith Ruiz Reyes, professor of the Nursing program and tutor at the Institute of Regional Projection and Distance Education – IPRED , expresses her great satisfaction with the day. “This day is spectacular, we integrate, we relax, it allows the mind to have a rest, the mental part is very important, the relationship part. This was really well thought out. These activities are very creative and allow everyone to choose according to what catches their attention, what they like. And at the same time we get to interact with teachers we don’t know.

Likewise, the incorporation of spaces for artistic expression was especially valued by the teachers, who took advantage of the opportunity to show their skills in painting and other creative expressions.
