The Industrial University of Santander (UIS), through Student Welfare, has opened applications for the assessment of cases involving undergraduate students experiencing academic vulnerability, as part of the university’s dining service for the first academic semester of 2027.
The call will be open from October 1 to October 8, 2026, and is aimed at undergraduate students who, due to family, economic, or social circumstances, are at risk of losing their student status because of poor academic performance, or who meet any of the criteria established for this process.
Who can apply for the assessment?
According to the criteria established in Agreement No. 094 of October 14, 2016, issued by the University’s Superior Council, each student must properly demonstrate the specific vulnerability situation under which they are submitting their application and attach the required supporting documents in PDF format. Incomplete documentation will prevent the case from being reviewed and assessed.
Application requirements
In addition to demonstrating one of the situations covered by the call, students must meet the requirements established to qualify for the assessment, including:
- Paying tuition fees equivalent to no more than one current statutory monthly minimum wage (S.M.M.L.V.), without taking into account any discounts applied by the University.
- Having a minimum of 11 approved academic credits.
- Being enrolled in at least 11 credits or Grade Project II during the semester in which the student applies for the dining service.
- Having no current disciplinary sanctions.
- Not having received the dining service for more than 10 academic semesters.
- Not receiving a student assistantship exceeding the statutory monthly minimum wage during the academic semester.
How to apply
Interested students must enter the institutional portal at uis.edu.co, select Students, then On-Campus Undergraduate, and enter their UIS student ID and personal password.

The results of the assessment will be sent to students’ institutional email accounts on Friday, November 20, 2026.
