The first summer research methodology course, aimed at medical and biomedical engineering students at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), was successfully held during the intersemester break.
The purpose of this initiative was to strengthen the training of undergraduate students interested in getting started in the field of research, providing them with tools to formulate impactful questions, conduct scientific literature searches, develop a theoretical framework, pose research problems, design methodologies, and draft solid research proposals.
The course was led by Professor Óscar Leonel Rueda and was endorsed by the UIS Entrepreneurship Program, Phase II. In this edition, the central research topic was Chagasic cardiomyopathy, which served as the basis for three projects that were presented to the Institutional Ethics Committee.
These projects were also developed as part of the Cardiovascular Research Incubator, specifically the Electrocardiography group, led by Professor Diego Rincón.
In this way, the course established itself as a space for training and engagement with scientific research, enabling students to strengthen their skills and take their first steps in developing research projects.
Welcome to the research incubator!
