Three decades of history: UIS Law Program celebrates 30 years of social commitment

On Friday, September 26, at the Club de Comercio in Bucaramanga, the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) commemorated the 30th anniversary of the creation and operation of its Law program, an academic space that has left its mark on the training of professionals and the strengthening of the legal and social life of the region.

The event brought together graduates, faculty, administrators, and staff from the School of Law and Political Science, who shared memories, experiences, and reflections on the program’s three decades of history.

“It’s a very special moment. I’m very happy to see faces I haven’t seen in years, remembering the importance of communication, of transformation, of what we did when we were in college and what we dreamed of being at that time and what we are today,” said Lili Andrea Rueda, magistrate of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace and UIS graduate.

For his part, the director of the School of Law and Political Science, Javier Alejandro Acevedo Guerrero, highlighted the trajectory and consolidation of this academic project: “We are truly pleased with these 30 years that have allowed us to demonstrate, amid many difficulties, that law in the city of Bucaramanga has a benchmark, and that is the School of Law of the Industrial University of Santander.”
