The Cardiovascular Symposium was a great success

The symposium was recently held in the main auditorium of the Scientific Complex for Health and Life Sciences Research and was attended by approximately 250 people. It was led by professors Boris Eduardo Vesga Angarita and Sergio Andrés Higuera Leal.

The topics covered from a primary care perspective were, in the first section: cardiovascular risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, chronic kidney disease, and vaccination in adults. In the second section: the focus on symptomatic management in primary care, the usefulness of diagnostic tests, chest pain from fatigue, palpitations, and fainting.

Between the two sections, there was a musical gathering led by the group 3M1A. In addition, a tribute was paid to the retired professors from the School of Medicine who are members of this group: Angel Maria Chaves Neira, Jorge Leopoldo Peña, Martinez, and Jaime Gomez Correa.
