As part of the commemoration of the Book and Reading Day, there will be a cultural day to read live the novel ‘¡Que viva la música!’, by Andrés Caicedo.

The activity, which will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will go until 5:00 p.m., will be held at Alumni Café, located in Casona La Perla.

This play tells the story of María del Carmen, a white, privileged, upper-class teenager from Cali, who decides to rebel against the expectations of her surroundings. Instead of following the traditional path of the “good girl”, she embarks on a frantic search for music, pleasure, freedom and extreme experiences.

Andrés Caicedo was a writer and intellectual from Cali. Since childhood he showed interest in writing and then, in his youth, in theater and cinema.

In the following link you can register and select the time slot in which you can attend and read fragments of the story.
