The journal Médicas UIS received important news for its academic and scientific community upon achieving a Category B classification in the preliminary results of the Call for Classification and Recognition of National Scientific Journals—Publindex 2026.
This recognition reaffirms the journal’s commitment to scientific quality, editorial excellence, and the dissemination of knowledge in the health sciences, solidifying its standing as a leading resource for researchers, faculty, students, and professionals in the field.
This achievement is the result of the collaborative efforts of students, authors, reviewers, editors, members of the scientific committee, the editorial board, and readers, all of whom have consistently contributed to the journal’s strengthening and growth.
The ranking achieved reflects more than 37 years of continuous effort to ensure high standards of quality in editorial processes and to promote the publication of research that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of community health.
“This rise in the Publindex rankings is a recognition of the hard and continuous work of the entire Médicas UIS team, which is deeply committed to the continuous improvement of editorial quality, and represents a step forward in our contribution to open science from the UIS,” said Professor Laura Rodríguez, the journal’s editor.
The School of Health at the Industrial University of Santander congratulates the editorial team of Médicas UIS and everyone who has contributed to this significant achievement, which is a source of pride for the institution and a testament to the impact of the scientific research conducted at UIS.
