Students Marco Dueñas Téllez and Paula Andrea Camargo Morales won the UIS 2026 Athletic Race.
In the men’s category, the Industrial Design student was crowned champion for the fifth consecutive year, finishing this time with a time of 10 minutes and 11 seconds.
“I feel very happy to win and represent UIS. I am part of the Athletics Team; I train every day and that makes the difference because of consistency and always pushing forward. The most difficult part of this race is the uphill section because it is around one kilometer long,” said Dueñas Téllez.

For her part, Camargo Morales, a student of Electrical Engineering, achieved a time of 12 minutes and 26 seconds. “From the beginning to the end you have to give it your all. Every edition is challenging; there are uphill and downhill sections, but I have been working hard in every training session,” said the winner.

On this occasion, the UIS Athletic Race brought together more than 3,000 people on a course of approximately four kilometers within the main campus.
The sporting event was broadcast live on UIS social media and the institution’s radio stations.
