Anesthesiology and Resuscitation postgraduate resident obtained second place during his participation in an international congress

Edgar Andrés Rueda Carrillo, resident of the Specialization in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation UIS, participated as a speaker at the residents’ forum held at the XXXVIII Latin American Congress of Anesthesiology held from May 21 to 24 in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

He participated with the research “Fragility as a predictor of postoperative morbimortality”. The objective of this study was to determine the fragility of patients as a risk of postoperative adverse events, for mortality and morbidity, describing the predictive capacity of the fragility scales in fragile and robust patients. This study was coordinated by Dr. Héctor Julio Meléndez.

The quality of his presentation allowed him to obtain the recognition of “second prize”, which is materialized in a scholarship for the next Latin American Congress of Anesthesiology CLASA Lima 2027.
