On a night filled with art, emotion, and culture, the community of Málaga had the privilege of enjoying a majestic performance by maestro Joshua Sebastián Cely, as part of the 42nd edition of the International Piano Festival of the Industrial University of Santander. The event was held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and brought together dozens of attendees who vibrated with every note and were moved by the young artist’s interpretive sensitivity.
This concert, which was part of the “Piano Viajero” program, seeks to decentralize art and bring academic music to different regions of the country. Joshua Sebastián Cely, a student at the UIS Bucaramanga School of Music, was responsible for representing the young talent that drives this festival, captivating the attention of the entire audience.
The coordinator of the UIS Málaga campus, Engineer Sandra Díaz, highlighted the importance of this type of cultural activity in strengthening the identity and social fabric of the territory.

“This festival is an invaluable opportunity to bring music to our communities and generate a cultural impact that strengthens the sense of belonging. We thank all the institutions and individuals who made this magical evening possible,” said the official.
During the morning, the Festival also included an educational concert aimed at students from the Industrial Technical Institute, promoting early access to high-quality artistic expressions.
For his part, the mayor of Malaga, Rubén Darío Moreno, expressed his gratitude to the UIS and highlighted the importance of the municipality being an active part of this cultural event.
“Activities like this beautify the cultural life of Málaga and enrich our entire region. Music unites, transforms, and inspires, and today we are witnesses to that power. Thank you to the UIS for allowing music to continue writing memorable pages in the history of our municipality.”

Those attending the evening expressed their gratitude to the Industrial University of Santander for bringing events to the region that promote art and strengthen cultural life. Martha Moreno, a resident of Málaga, highlighted: “These spaces enrich the soul. They are something different in our region and very necessary. Thank you to the UIS for bringing us this unique experience.”
From the Industrial University of Santander, we continue to reach the territory with art, knowledge, and culture, reaffirming our commitment to the comprehensive development of communities.
