
A total of 216 votes were cast during the election for faculty representation on the Superior Council for the 2026–2028 term. Professor Edga Mireya Uribe Salamanca received 139 votes, equivalent to 64.3% of the total. With this result, she was elected as the new faculty representative to this governing body.
The results verification process was conducted at 4:06 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in the presence of professors Olga Mercedes Álvarez Ojeda, Academic Vice President, representing the UIS Rector; Sofía Pinzón Durán, Secretary General; and John Faber Archila Diaz, President of the Faculty Association. All three are members of the UIS Electoral Monitoring Committee and served as election scrutineers in the process, which was conducted through the Teams platform.

It is worth noting that the election was conducted electronically through the university’s institutional website, uis.edu.co, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The election process for this faculty representative position was called pursuant to Resolution No. 985, dated July 17, 2026.
