UIS Pediatrics Resident Receives International Recognition in Guatemala

María Camila Velandia en la exposición del Congreso

María Camila Velandia, a UIS physician and postgraduate resident in pediatrics, participated in and won first place in the oral presentation competition at the 66th National Pediatrics Congress in Guatemala.

The research project, entitled “Clinical, sociodemographic, and nutritional characterization of overweight or obese children between the ages of 2 and 12 treated at the Santander University Hospital,” aimed to describe the clinical, sociodemographic, and nutritional characteristics of the population treated at the hospital.

The co-authors of this research were: Víctor Clemente Mendoza, Stefanía Roca López, Sergio Serrano Gómez, Andrés Felipe Coba, Hernando Alfredo Contreras, and María Fernanda Salamanca.
