With the purpose of contributing to the consolidation of new institutional academic cooperation networks, Professor Robinson Giraldo Villegas, attached to the School of Arts, made the academic and artistic tour Iberoamerica, Exchange of Knowledge, which took place from May 19 to 23.

During this time, Professor Robinson visited educational institutions such as the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, the Professional Conservatory of Music of Amaniel and the Regional Conservatory of Music of Versailles Grand Parc.

In these places he gave master classes and lectures on the pedagogical and research processes that for several years he has developed and led at the UIS in order to share his experiences and knowledge, thus articulating with the artistic, academic and cultural agenda of each entity.

He also performed a recital of Colombian folk music in various instrumental formats at the Rameau concert hall of the Versailles Grand Parc Regional Conservatory of Music. During this activity, he also performed the international premiere of the work Du’u “Suite for solo bass trombone and soundscape”, composed by Juan Carlos Valencia Ramos, professor at the Universidad de Caldas, and Nicolás Esteban Hernández Bustos, professor at the Universidad Industrial de Santander. This work represents various traditions and customs of the Tikuna indigenous community, located in the Colombian Amazon.

“For me it was a real honor and pride to have carried out this project, because it allows me to see and learn about other cultural and artistic realities related to music education and then be able to replicate this information in the different training, artistic and research processes that we develop in the School of Arts,” reiterated Giraldo Villegas.
