Keep going? Yes! Stop? No! Just as the lyrics of Wilfrido Vargas’ song “The funny man” say, UIS Estéreo “The Voice of the University” and UIS AM “The New Radio” keep “playing” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during Christmas and New Year’s season.
Broadcasting via analog signals at 96.9 MHz and 670 kHz, as well as digitally at http://emisoras.uis.edu.co/, the institutional radio stations remain ON AIR to offer their audience the most diverse and carefully curated programming.
On December 24, 25, and 31, as well as January 1, the programming will be exclusively musical, featuring national and international artists and bands who traditionally accompany end-of-year and New Year celebrations.
Artists such as Los 50 de Joselito, Juan Piña, La Sonora Dinamita, Los Black Stars, Joe Arroyo, Rodolfo Aicardi, Guillermo Buitrago, La Billo’s Caracas Boys, Los Hermanos Rosario, Diomedes Díaz, Los Corraleros de Majagual, Fruko & Sus Tesos, Los Melódicos, La Sonora Matancera, among others, will alternate with contemporary performers like Heredero.
The institutional stations of the Universidad Industrial de Santander will also feature classic Christmas carols and holiday songs by Mariah Carey, Raphael, Gloria Estefan, Elvis Presley, Tatiana, Barbra Streisand, David Bisbal, and Frank Sinatra, as well as Christmas music by groups such as Síncopa Jazz Band, Arpegios, Las Dominicas y Los Niños Cantores del Virrey Solís, and Música Ficta, alongside traditional end-of-year productions like “Danceable cannon shots”.
Additionally, some radio shows on UIS Estéreo will continue broadcasting at the start of the holiday break, such as Jazz Club, Charanga & Son, and Memories of my beloved neighborhood, by Professor and producer Carlos Mantilla, which will air until December 20 and resume the week starting January 6, 2025.
Actualidad Jurídica segment, a radio show by the Escuela de Derecho y Ciencia Política UIS, will air its second part of the program on equity justice on Saturday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. Professor Javier Alejandro Acevedo continues his discussion with international guest Dr. Antonio Alfonso Peña Jumpa, a lawyer, professor, and PhD in Law from Peru.
