Officials from the Language Institute at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) held a meeting with representatives from the investment group Salt Venture Partners to discuss possible partnerships that would strengthen the university’s foreign language programs.
“We came to the UIS to learn about and explore the possibilities for mutual collaboration through our English as a Second Language programs. We want to coordinate with the university and reach all degree programs so that students can take advantage of the opportunities we can offer,” said María del Pilar Vélez, business director at Salt Venture Partners.
The representatives of this investment group, based in Miami (Florida, United States) and dedicated to supporting educational and health projects, expressed their enthusiasm for the prospect of joint initiatives after learning about the structure, operation, and academic offerings of the UIS, especially those of the Language Institute, recognized in the region for its leadership in training global citizens.

“I was pleasantly surprised by this visit. The facilities are excellent, and the academic offerings and resources available at the university are truly remarkable. The tools they offer students are very interesting, and we are excited to think about the partnerships and achievements we could accomplish,” added the investment group’s business director.
Similarly, this meeting generated a positive assessment among the directors of the Language Institute, who hope to consolidate strategic alliances that will allow them to continue strengthening language training with high standards of quality and excellence.
“This meeting represents the sum of educational capabilities, in which the UIS, through its Language Institute, consolidates its position as a leading player in the strengthening of bilingualism,” said Laura Dueñas, director of the UIS Language Institute.
