UIS Strengthens Mental Health Support Services During the Intersemester Break

Going on vacation does not mean you are on your own. If during this break you feel the need for someone to talk to, guidance, or psychological support, remember that the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) keeps all its mental health support services available.

With the aim of promoting the overall well-being of the student community, the University reminds students of the different mental health support services available during the intersemester period. This strategy seeks to ensure that students who require psychological assistance or emotional guidance can access timely and appropriate services, even outside the regular academic calendar.

As a first option, students may contact their Health Promotion Entity (EPS) through scheduled appointments or priority care services. This mechanism provides access to the mental health services included within Colombia’s healthcare system, ensuring professional care according to each individual’s needs.

In cases where attention through the EPS is delayed or not immediately available, students are encouraged to use the support lines provided by the Health Secretariat. These channels are staffed by trained professionals who offer listening, guidance, and emotional support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making them a fast and accessible alternative for anyone going through a situation that requires assistance.

Likewise, students should keep in mind that the University’s Listening Center serves as an additional space for support and guidance. During the intersemester period, services will be provided mainly through WhatsApp (+57 315 761 4787) and other virtual channels (Instagram: @centrodeescucha.uis) in order to facilitate access and provide timely support whenever needed.

The Listening Center’s virtual service will be available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. continuously.

Remember that seeking help is an important step in caring for your mental health and strengthening your personal well-being.
