The Industrial University of Santander continues expanding its educational impact beyond the borders of Santander and arrived in Cúcuta to share with hundreds of young people the quality, trajectory, and leadership that today position UIS as one of the best universities in Colombia.
UIS participated in the 21st University Fair organized by La Salle School in Cúcuta, an event that brought together 33 higher education institutions from northeastern Colombia and other regions of the country, with the purpose of guiding students and families in the construction of their professional life projects.
The University’s presence attracted significant interest among attendees. Staff members from the Admissions Office received numerous positive comments from parents and students, who recognized UIS for its academic excellence and its ability to provide opportunities for professional growth and high-quality education.
Ana María Rey, a parent attending the fair, emphasized the importance of supporting young people in discovering and developing their talents and aspirations while choosing their academic future. According to her, family support plays a key role in helping students pursue their dreams and strengthen their personal abilities.

Innovative programs and future-oriented education
Carlos Julio Mariño, Marketing Professional at the UIS Admissions Office, explained that new generations are increasingly seeking shorter and more dynamic academic programs that provide quicker access to the labor market. For this reason, the University has strengthened its academic offer with innovative and modern programs.
In this regard, he highlighted programs such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Veterinary Medicine, all designed to respond to current global and professional challenges while allowing students to complete their education in a shorter period without compromising academic quality.
Likewise, the school counselor from La Salle School highlighted the importance of these spaces in strengthening communication between parents and students while helping young people build clearer life projects. He also pointed out the challenges students currently face due to information overload and the influence of social media, stressing the importance of continuing to promote higher education as a driver of personal and social growth.
During the fair, dozens of students visited the UIS stand to learn about undergraduate programs, admission processes, student mobility opportunities, student welfare services, and the benefits of studying at a high-quality accredited public university.
With its participation in Cúcuta, the Industrial University of Santander continues consolidating its position as an academic benchmark in northeastern Colombia and as an institution that inspires trust among new generations.
