UIS Floridablanca Community Contributes to the Creation of the New Office of the Vice-Rectory for Well-Being

With the aim of strengthening the participatory development of a proposal that addresses the needs of the university community, students, faculty, and administrative staff from the Floridablanca campus participated in the co-creation sessions outlined in the institutional process aimed at establishing the UIS Office of the Vice President for Well-Being.

On this occasion, the space for dialogue and collective development allowed participants in Floridablanca to share insights based on their experiences and perspectives to identify opportunities for improvement and enrich this proposal before its finalization.

“After a tour of the regional campuses and the five colleges, today we are bringing this session to the Floridablanca campus to conclude these co-creation sessions. We have received numerous contributions from the community in each of the fourteen spaces that have been created to promote participation in different settings across the University,” said María Carolina Acevedo, a staff member of the UIS Office of the Vice President for Administration.

This meeting provided an opportunity to analyze and validate various aspects of the initial proposal, including the organizational structure and governance model to be implemented by the new Office of the Vice President for Well-being.

The collaborative planning exercise focused on six strategic components that make up this initiative:

• Socioeconomic management.

• Community affairs.

• Comprehensive health.

• Sports and recreation management.

• Cultural management.

• Human development.

What’s Next

Following the conclusion of the co-creation sessions, the process continues with the analysis and processing of the information gathered from the contributions and ideas presented by the university community.

“Now we will have to analyze which aspects can be incorporated into the proposal and determine which ones can be placed in an idea bank to prioritize their implementation, based on the availability of resources, and thus create better conditions for the university community,” the official explained.

The proposal for the creation of the new Office of the Vice President for Well-being is expected to be presented to the university’s governing bodies for review and the corresponding procedural steps.
