The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) held last Thursday, February 6, an awareness day at the Jorge Zalamea auditorium, with the purpose of informing the university community about the electoral process for the election of the members of the Labor Coexistence Committee for the period 2025-2027. This event is crucial to encourage the participation of all sectors of the university in the conformation of a body that promotes a healthy and respectful work environment.
The Labor Coexistence Committee, made up of representatives of permanent professors, administrative staff and teachers under occasional or teaching modalities, including tutors, has the essential mission of preventing workplace harassment and protecting workers from psychosocial risks that may arise in the work environment. In accordance with current regulations, this committee is elected every two years, thus ensuring that the university community has a voice in the construction of a fairer and more equitable work environment.
During the meeting, the schedule of the electoral process was presented, which includes the following activities:
– Registration: from Monday, February 10 to Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
– Evaluation of attitudinal competencies: Thursday 13 and Friday 14 February 2025.
– Disclosure of registered candidates: Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 February 2025.
– Elections: Friday, February 20, 2025.
These steps are essential to ensure that all members of the UIS can be involved in the election of representatives who will defend their rights and promote a harmonious working environment. Active participation in this process not only strengthens the committee structure, but also contributes to creating a workspace where respect and collaboration are the norm.
