The community learned about the results of Socorro headquarters’ management in 2024

El ingeniero Julio Alfonso Martínez Molina, Coordinador de Sede, compartió con la comunidad los avances y experiencias de la gestión 2024.

The UIS Socorro Campus held the 2024 Public Accountability Hearing, an institutional event that brought together students, teachers, administrators, and the community at large in the Main Hall of the Convento Campus. During the event, the main results of the academic, administrative, and mission management carried out throughout the year were presented, as well as the challenges that will accompany the development of the campus in the short and medium term.

Engineer Julio Alfonso Martínez Molina, coordinator of the headquarters in the Capital Comunera, highlighted the importance of maintaining these exercises in transparency and ongoing dialogue with the public: “As is our duty, we want to share with the entire community the different actions that have been carried out in this 2024 Public Accountability Hearing process. We address issues of administrative management, internationalization, regionalization, training, research, outreach, such as the work we do in our Antonia Santos Public Library.”

During his speech, the coordinator explained the progress made in key indicators for the campus, in areas such as process modernization, strengthening the academic offering, and direct links with students and professors. He also highlighted the commitment of the administrative and academic team operating at the Convento and Bicentenario campuses, in line with the institutional guidelines led by the Rector’s Office.

One of the most significant announcements was the sustained growth of the student community in the region. The UIS Socorro Campus currently has close to 1,700 students and expects to reach 2,000 in the coming years, reflecting its strengthened presence in southern Santander and the confidence that families have in the institution.

This space also mentioned the issues that will continue to be priorities in academic and administrative work.
