
As part of the commemoration of “World Tuberculosis Day,” the School of Health, the Departmental Health Secretariat, the University Hospital of Santander, and scientific associations of pulmonology will host the World Tuberculosis Day Symposium, an academic forum aimed at strengthening knowledge and providing updates on this disease, which continues to be a major public health challenge.
The event will take place on Friday, March 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Magistral Auditorium of the UIS Faculty of Health, and is aimed at healthcare professionals, students, researchers, and staff involved in tuberculosis control programs.
The symposium will address topics related to the diagnosis, clinical management, and epidemiological situation of tuberculosis, with the participation of experts in infectious diseases, pediatric pulmonology, and public health.
In addition, the symposium will include a presentation of clinical cases and a practical workshop on the proper use of biosafety masks, activities designed to strengthen healthcare personnel’s skills in the prevention and control of the disease.
