45 seventh semester students of the Microbiology and Bioanalysis program of the Faculty of Health, accompanied by the direction of three professors of the program, participated in the design and execution of a blood donation campaign in collaboration with the Hemocenter of Santander.

As a main marketing strategy, the creation of stories and reels on Instagram was implemented, with the aim of attracting potential donors. The day was held on March 23 and 30, 2025 at Parque de los Niños, and was attended by approximately 150 interested people and the collection of 118 units of blood.

These units were subsequently fractionated, benefiting about 354 patients with blood component requirements in the department of Santander. “This experience not only strengthens learning from an experiential perspective, but also generates a significant social impact,” said Professor Mike Alexander Celis, professor attached to the School of Microbiology and Bioanalysis.
