Genesis Daniela Méndez Pirela, a graduate of the School of Nutrition and Dietetics, and professors Sonia Patricia Gamboa Gélvez and Claudia Milena Ardila Meléndez participated with a poster presentation at the XIX FELANPE Congress.

During this academic meeting, held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from October 12 to 15, they presented their work entitled: “Analysis of the body composition and somatotype of junior university athletes in table tennis and karate.”

The study aimed to describe the anthropometric characteristics, body composition, and somatotype of youth university athletes in karate and table tennis, analyzing differences by gender and sport.

This participation reflects the School of Nutrition and Dietetics’ commitment to research and international academic outreach, and strengthens the presence of the Industrial University of Santander in highly recognized scientific spaces in the area of nutrition.

The FELANPE Congress is recognized as one of the most important events in Latin America in the field of clinical and metabolic nutrition, bringing together specialists, researchers, and teachers from various countries to share the latest advances in nutritional care and scientific research.
