In the presence of the rector of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), Hernán Porras Díaz, members of the Academic Council, executives, and administrative officials, the inauguration ceremony was held in which Professor Olga Patricia Chacón Arias once again assumed the position of head of the Human Talent Management Division, a responsibility she had already held in previous years.

A tenured associate professor at the School of Industrial and Business Studies, Professor Chacón returns to the position with the experience gained from her previous tenure and her knowledge of the Division’s team. During her speech, she expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and emphasized that this new term represents a challenge that she takes on with motivation and institutional commitment.

“The Human Talent Management Division is strategic for any organization. Human resources are its greatest strength. Our purpose is to ensure that those of us who work at the University feel comfortable, committed, and proud to give our best every day,” she said.

Among her main objectives are to strengthen actions aimed at the well-being of employees, as well as to consolidate support spaces and preventive campaigns that contribute to a healthy work environment.

In this regard, she highlighted institutional initiatives such as the Listening Center, a service that provides professional support to the university community. “The University has made significant efforts on behalf of its employees. It is essential to maintain and strengthen prevention strategies to address situations before they become major problems,” she said.

Professor Chacón Arias is an industrial engineer who graduated from the UIS, with a master’s degree and doctorate in areas related to finance and administration. Throughout her career, she has held positions of high academic and administrative responsibility: she was director of the School, the first woman to serve as dean of the Faculty of Physical and Mechanical Engineering, and president of the Colombian Association of Engineering Faculties, among other roles.

Her academic experience and institutional leadership support this new period at the helm of the Human Talent Management Division, where she will continue working to strengthen the well-being and comprehensive management of the University’s staff.
