The Language Institute of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) began its academic activities by teaching classes to 4,459 students at all its campuses. At the opening, it was noted that 3,661 students enrolled in Saturday programs to learn a second language, a figure that confirms the confidence of the Santander community in this institutional offering.
“This figure is very important and has generated high expectations, as it reflects a return to the enrollment levels we had before the pandemic. We are very proud and satisfied with this result,” said Claudia Cabrera, academic coordinator of the programs for children and young people.
The students highlighted their decision to study at the UIS Language Institute thanks to the quality of the academic offering, the talent, and the professionalism of its teaching staff. They also pointed out that the tools they have acquired bring them closer to becoming citizens of the world.
“I think it’s a very good institute. Every year, it seeks to improve in areas such as service, education, and infrastructure. The new building is undoubtedly one of the best projects that has been developed in the time I’ve been studying here,” said Camila Bedoya, a student at the UIS Language Institute.
Gabriela González, also a student at the Institute, highlighted the academic experience and the service received. “I think it’s a very good service and I would definitely recommend it,” she said.

Similarly, parents expressed their satisfaction at seeing the progress their children have made in their learning. They agreed that the new building, located on the Central Campus, represents added value that strengthens the teaching process.
“I bring my daughter here because she learns a lot and has made significant progress in English,” said Diana Mora, a parent.
“We just started last year, and so far, my children are very happy with the work being done here, both in terms of language learning and the quality of the facilities,” added Eduardo Galván, another parent.
The UIS Language Institute offers quality education in Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Socorro, Barbosa, and Barrancabermeja, expanding access to language training and strengthening the region’s academic profile.
New elevators
As a notable development, the UIS Language Institute officially inaugurated two elevators in its new building located on the Central Campus, each with a capacity for 11 people. The commissioning of this equipment marks a key step in the consolidation of the Institute’s modern infrastructure, significantly improving internal mobility and providing greater comfort and accessibility to the entire academic community.
