Learn more about the effects of hallucinogen use

Hallucinogen use produces psychological, physical, neurological, social, and psychiatric effects that vary depending on the substance, dose, context, and individual vulnerability.

Some of these effects are immediate, others are medium- and long-term. Visual and sensory distortions, perceptual alterations, confused thoughts, euphoria, anxiety, panic, laughter, increased heart rate, pupil dilation, sweating, tremors, nausea, anxiety disorder, psychosis, and difficulty concentrating are some of the most common effects.

We invite you to learn more about this topic of general interest, which will be addressed by Professor Diego Rincón Castillo, UIS physician and surgeon; Master of Basic Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis in Pharmacology from the University of Antioquia; Coordinator of Medical Pharmacology, Professor at the School of Medicine, Department of Basic Sciences.
