As part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the Proinapsa UIS Institute, a workshop entitled “Comprehensive sexuality education based on psychosocial life skills” was held. The workshop was aimed at strengthening capacities in the area of comprehensive sexuality education and was aimed at students and teachers from the Faculty of Health.

The meeting, facilitated by Nury Constanza Guerrero Parra, Master in Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Claudia Milena Velasco Rangel, Master in Pedagogy, and project professionals from the Proinapsa UIS Institute, promoted the understanding of sexuality as an essential dimension of human beings, linked to well-being, emotions, communication, and the bonds that are woven with others.

From the perspective that guides the work of the Proinapsa UIS Institute, Comprehensive Sexuality Education is understood as an opportunity to develop knowledge, attitudes, and skills that enable free, informed, and responsible decision-making; to recognize the body as a source of knowledge and emotion; and to strengthen empathy, respect, and gender equality.

During the workshop, the role of life skills as tools for living sexuality fully and respectfully was highlighted, and the need to promote educational and social environments that recognize diversity and guarantee sexual and reproductive rights was discussed.

Thus, the Proinapsa UIS Institute reaffirms its commitment to comprehensive training and the promotion of education that contributes to building new ways of thinking, feeling, and practicing health, strengthening the autonomy and well-being of individuals and communities.
