The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) will open the admissions process this Wednesday, September 23, for its in-person undergraduate programs in Bucaramanga. Applicants will be able to pay the application fee until November 10 and complete their online application by November 12.
According to the schedule provided for the admissions process, the first step is to pay the application fee, a process that will be available from September 23 through November 10.
Applicants will then be able to complete their application through the University’s online platform between September 24 and November 12.
UIS maintains a dedicated section on its institutional website for applications to its in-person undergraduate programs in Bucaramanga. The University indicates that, once the payment has been made, applicants must wait for the payment to be registered in the system before proceeding with the online application.

The music aptitude and knowledge test is specifically intended for applicants to the Bachelor’s Degree in Music, which has additional requirements as part of the admissions process.
Who Can Apply?
To participate in the admissions process for in-person undergraduate programs in Bucaramanga, applicants must:
- Have completed 11th grade or be currently enrolled in it.
- Have taken the Saber 11 State Examination within the past five years, meaning from 2021 onward.
- Have a minimum score of 31 points in each of the areas assessed by the Saber 11 examination: Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social Studies and Citizenship, Natural Sciences, and English.

Recommendations for Completing the Application
The University recommends having the documents required to complete the online application readily available. These include an identification document, Saber 11 examination results or the individual test admission notice, and, when applicable, the Sisbén certificate and voting certificate.
Applicants should also keep in mind that a single application fee payment allows them to apply to up to two academic programs. If two options are selected, UIS requires applicants to list their preferred program as their first choice. The score will only be considered for the second choice if the applicant is not selected for their first-choice program.
Special Situations
Applicants who are exempt from the English test, in accordance with the regulations established by the University, will be evaluated based on the following areas: Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social Studies and Citizenship, and Natural Sciences.
Applicants to the Bachelor’s Degree in Music must meet additional requirements and take the music aptitude and knowledge test established in the admissions schedule.
UIS also establishes specific conditions for applicants to the Professional Technical Program in the Execution of Cultural and Creative Projects and the Professional Technical Program in the Installation and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Systems, particularly regarding the year in which they took the Saber 11 examination.
Applicants who obtained their high school diploma abroad and are admitted to UIS must submit the corresponding validation of their diploma to Colombia’s Ministry of National Education.
The University also warns that the use of fraudulent means during the admissions process will result in ineligibility to apply to any academic program at the institution for five years, in accordance with the regulations referenced in the application requirements.
