Registration Open for the Election of Student and Faculty Representatives to the Cultural Committee

Registration will remain open until Friday, September 18, at 4:00 p.m. for individuals interested in running for election as student or faculty representatives to the Cultural Committee in Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area.

Those interested may register by sending an email, preferably from the candidate’s institutional email account, to sgeneral@uis.edu.co. The email must state the candidate’s free and informed decision to register and must include a 3 x 4 cm color photograph.

Through Resolution No. 1225 of 2026, the University announced the election process. Individuals who meet the following requirements may register:

Student RepresentativeFaculty Representative
• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University that is offered at one of the campuses in the Bucaramanga metropolitan area.
• Have no type of academic or administrative conditional status.
• Be a faculty member teaching courses in academic programs offered at the University’s campuses in the Bucaramanga metropolitan area.
• Not be on unpaid leave or suspended as a result of disciplinary action.

On Tuesday, September 22, the Secretaría General will verify whether the candidates meet the requirements and will publish the list of candidates authorized to participate in each electoral process.

The election will be held online on Wednesday, October 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At approximately 4:06 p.m., once the results have been counted, the corresponding minutes will be prepared, officially declaring those elected as representatives to the University’s Cultural Committee.
