The decision responds to the national emergency caused by the earthquake and damage to some testing sites. Students will be able to check their new test assignments starting October 2.
Students at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) who are scheduled to take the Saber Pro and Saber TyT exams should take note of an important change to the academic calendar. The Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (Icfes) has rescheduled the testing session originally planned for Sunday, September 6. It will now take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The measure was adopted due to the national emergency resulting from the earthquake, which caused damage to some of the infrastructure designated as testing sites. According to Icfes, the decision seeks to ensure that all registered students can take the assessment under safe and equal conditions and with the required technical guarantees.
A total of 180,929 students are registered for this testing session, which will be held at 341 testing sites across different regions of the country. Some of the institutions initially selected as testing sites were affected by the earthquake and therefore do not meet the necessary conditions to conduct the examination.
New dates students should keep in mind
Icfes reported that new test assignments will be available on Friday, October 2, 2026. Students should therefore check their assigned testing location and examination conditions again before the test date.
Likewise, at the end of the examination on October 18, Icfes will provide students with a physical certificate confirming that they took the test. This document may be submitted to higher education institutions as proof of having fulfilled the requirement, provided that the student also meets the other academic requirements established by their university.
Digital attendance certificates will be available starting November 9, 2026, while individual results can be consulted from February 19, 2027, through the official Icfes portal.
For UIS students, it is important to remember that the Saber Pro and Saber TyT exams are a requirement for graduation from higher education and technological programs.
