With the aim of maintaining its ISO 9001:2015 quality certification, UISALUD has launched a series of training sessions for process leaders and work teams in preparation for the upcoming external audit to be conducted by ICONTEC.
These training sessions aim to strengthen the competencies of the workforce, align institutional processes, and ensure the continuity of quality standards in the delivery of health services.
During the session, led by internal auditor Piedad Cecilia Serpa Pérez, a discussion was held to foster an understanding of the quality management system as a practical and accessible tool. “More than an introductory process, it was an invitation to internalize the standard as a mechanism that facilitates and improves each of the processes,” explained the professional.

The training covered key topics such as the fundamental principles of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, the process-based approach, and the importance of identifying each of its elements and activities. It also delved into the risk-based approach, which is considered essential for preventing undesirable situations and preparing the organization for potential contingencies that could impact service quality.
According to the auditor, this approach not only allows for anticipating risks but also mitigating their effects should they arise, thereby protecting stakeholders, especially users.

These initiatives reflect UISALUD’s commitment to continuous improvement and to providing safe, timely, and patient-centered services. By training its staff, the organization is not only preparing for a new external evaluation but also reaffirming its mission to positively impact the lives of its members and contribute to the well-being of the university community.
Through this process, UISALUD aims to consolidate an organizational culture centered on quality, prevention, and excellence, ensuring that every institutional action translates into a better experience for its users and increasingly reliable healthcare.
