On the second day of Expouniversidades, the UIS Barrancabermeja Campus received a very special visit: eleventh-grade students from the Colegio Agropecuario Puente Sogamoso, located in the district of Puente Sogamoso, Puerto Wilches. These young students are part of the articulation agreement with the Industrial University of Santander to pursue the Technical Degree in Agricultural Production, offered by the Institute for Regional Outreach and Distance Education – IPRED.

During their visit, the students enjoyed guided tours of the university stands, explored the campus facilities, and participated in two exciting academic demonstrations: a live 3D printing session and the fascinating Blue Flame Experiment, which amazed all attendees.

Rodrigo Calderón, principal of Colegio Agropecuario Puente Sogamoso, emphasized the importance of such experiences: “It is very valuable for our students to visit the university, explore its environment, and feel like they belong here. These types of activities reinforce our commitment to technical education in the region and show that it is indeed possible to access quality higher education from our territories.”

Through this event, UIS reaffirms its commitment to social outreach, strengthening ties with educational communities in the Magdalena Medio region, and promoting real opportunities for local youth.
