From 8:00 a.m. this Friday, the university community of the UIS Malaga campus gathered to commemorate International Women’s Day, through a day full of cultural and sports activities, organized by the Student Welfare area.
The agenda began with a lively class of Latin rhythms, where movement and joy marked the beginning of the day, with the participation of students, teachers and administrative staff. In parallel, the creativity and ingenuity of the students were the main ingredient in the Entrepreneurship Fair, where they exhibited handmade products, desserts and garments alluding to the UIS, capturing the attention of the public.

Musical talent also had its place with the presentation of the Ensamble group, which delighted the university community with an artistic display in which every lyric and intonation was dedicated to women.
In addition, in coordination with the National Police of the municipality of Malaga, informative talks were given on the prevention of mistreatment of women, hotlines for victims and signs of help in situations of violence or abuse.

For Gisell Natalia Gómez, a professional from Student Welfare, the day was a success, as it allowed the university community to integrate and highlight the importance of women in all areas of society.
The commemoration culminated with a walk through the municipality of Malaga, promoting healthy lifestyles and a more equitable future for women.
