With renewed energy and a firm commitment to training professionals of integrity, the Industrial University of Santander-Malaga campus began the second academic semester of 2025.
Around 600 young people from different regions of the country are returning to the classroom with a common goal: to become professionals with the UIS seal of approval, trained with excellence, ethics, and social commitment.
This new cycle represents an opportunity for academic, personal, and collective growth, where each class, each encounter, and each challenge becomes part of the path toward their professional goals.
“May this semester be full of learning, meaningful experiences, and great achievements for all our students,” said the campus management team led by Coordinator Sandra Diaz.
For their part, the students enthusiastically highlighted the start of classes as a new opportunity to advance their professional training.
María Alejandra Villamizar, a first-semester student, said, “I hope to grow both academically and professionally in this new stage of university.”
For her part, Alexandra Virgüez began this semester with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. “I am starting with the best energy, positivity, and a great desire to continue learning and reinforcing my knowledge,” she said.

News from University Wellness: ¡Live Healthy at UIS!
This semester, the University Wellness team, led by Coordinator Magda Liseth Vargas and made up of educational psychologist Martha Liliana Toscano and nurse Gisell Natalia Gómez, is excited to launch the “Live Healthy at UIS” campaign, which is all about the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the whole student community.
Under this initiative, activities, workshops, self-care spaces, and group dynamics will be developed, designed to promote healthy habits, emotional management, and balance between academic and personal life.

In addition, “La Gaceta del Bienestar” (The Wellness Gazette) is being launched, a monthly newsletter that will cover the main topics, recommendations, and programming of activities in the area, in order to keep the university community informed and connected.
Voces UIS, the podcast of the Industrial University of Santander-Malaga Campus, will also be launched. It seeks to provide a space for dialogue and conversation with students, teachers, and administrators on different topics related to university life. It will be a monthly episode.
From the UIS Málaga Headquarters, we wish all our university community an excellent academic semester in the forestry engineering, animal husbandry, and basic engineering programs, as well as to our distance-learning and virtual students.
