Starting this Thursday, September 1, the Luis A. Calvo Auditorium is adorned with the presentation of more than 10 relevant artists on the national and international piano scene, as part of the start of the program and gala concerts of the 39° Festival Internacional de Piano ‘Nos Toca a Todos’.
Artists from Spain, France, Cuba, Korea, the United States, and Colombia will present a varied repertoire full of classical and modern pieces, performances, and live performances, with which they seek to expand the practice and enjoyment of the piano in the citizens of Bucaramanga. and other municipalities of Santander.
Among the international quota of guest performers is Francisco Escoda Patrón, a Spanish pianist in charge of opening the festival’s gala concerts with his repertoire ‘En Modo de Andaluz’. Escoda Patrón is a musician and pedagogue, he has collaborated with the Cervantes Institute, the Tahar Haddad Cultural Center, and the Acropolis of Tunis to make Spanish music known. He currently combines his concert career with his teaching career at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, the International University of Valencia, where he directs the master’s degree in musical interpretation and research, and the MpMusic Foundation.
Parallel to the gala concerts, the exhibition ‘Minimamente Bello’ opens its doors, by the bumangués maestro Efraín Saldaña, with which the programming of the 39° Festival Internacional de Piano ‘Nos Toca a Todos’ begins. Maestro Saldaña is also responsible for the image of this edition of the festival, entitled ‘La Belleza del Asombro’.
Those interested in participating in the Festival will also find workshops, master classes, and three exhibitions that portray the past of almost four decades of history of this cultural space. This year there will be a film series and space for entrepreneurs with the ‘Mercadillo los Bohemios’.
In this 2022 edition, the return of the Concurso Nacional de Piano in Professional and Children and Youth categories, with their respective semifinals on September 5 and 6 and the final phase on September 8 and 11.
