
The Specialized Health Unit of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, UISALUD, participated in the forum convened by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic to address the issue of maximum budgets and their impact on the guarantee of health services in the country. This space for technical and institutional dialogue brought together representatives of different entities of the health sector, with the purpose of reflecting on the current challenges of the financing model and the sustainability of the system.
During the event, expert panelists presented different perspectives on the functioning of the maximum budget mechanism, particularly in relation to the management of high-cost health care and the role played by the Administrator of the Resources of the General System of Social Security in Health (ADRES) in the allocation of resources. UISALUD was invited as a special regime, in recognition of its experience and commitment to strengthening health care and financial management processes.

UISALUD’s participation responded to its institutional responsibility and commitment to the rigorous analysis of public health policies. During the forum, experiences and reflections were shared that contribute to the national debate on the financial sustainability of the General System of Social Security in Health, highlighting the importance of guaranteeing adequate and timely resources for the provision of quality services.
In the development of the activity, the dialogue with Dr. Edgar Julián Díaz Carrillo, Comptroller Delegate for Health Affairs, was highlighted, who recognized the importance of having the vision of academic actors and providers with special regime.
