Increasing UISALUD’s budget and expanding the provision of first and second level services directly on the university campus are two of the novelties that this administrative unit will have for 2025 in order to maintain and increase the excellence that has characterized it.
“UISALUD is the crown jewel of those of us who are linked to the UIS and that is why it must be strengthened. Last December’s Superior Council took a proposal from the Rectory endorsed by the Board of Directors of UISALUD and it was the increase of one point by the University to the entity’s fund, this was approved and will be in effect from January 2025,” said Rector Hernán Porras Díaz after the Board of Directors of UISALUD.
In order to minimize costs without affecting the provision and optimization of health services, it was decided that the physiotherapy area, which is currently located in Block A of UISALUD, will be moved to the second floor of the Logistics building.
“The University’s outflows must be minimized and for them we have decided to expand the provision of first and second level directly on our university campus. To do this we will move the physiotherapy area, which today is provided in Block A of UISALUD, to the second floor Logistics building located at the entrance of Carrera 30, where we had the Covid vaccine applied,” added Porras Diaz.
With resources from the Rectory’s fund six, the construction of Block B between the Centic building and the old UISALUD building is underway to move the entire administrative area there.
“We will leave the current building only for the provision of first and second level services. This allows us to reduce costs and provide more immediate attention to the user because the idea is always to maintain and increase excellence in the provision of services,” said the UIS Rector.
UISALUD is a special regime entity within the General System of Social Security in Health and provides services at the primary and complementary levels with a committed human talent and a network of suitable providers, to guarantee the administration of health risks and the efficient management of its resources.
